One of a Kind and he’s all Mine. Happy Birthday Jesse Justice.
There’s one in every family and he is ours. Today, he is 12 years old. Weighing in at a hefty 70 pounds (5 of which is in hair) friends, I give you, the one and only, Jesse Justice.
He looks like his Momma, with a wild, out of control crop a hair balanced on top of a skinny frame. He loves music and gaming and all things sci-fi. He acts like his Daddy with his cool steady gaze and nerves of dadgum steel. You’d be hard pressed to find Jesse nervous, or unsure in any given situation. He must have the lowest blood pressure of anyone I know.
To tell y’all the truth, Mason and I envy the little joker. What must it feel like for your nerves to not be tore up about something every day?? He so cool and calm. He makes winging it look soooo easy. We have yet to find something he’s just not good at. Musically talented and athletic? It’s just not fair.
I’ve never known someone as selfless as Jesse Justice. Plain and simple, if Mason is happy, Jesse is happy. The moment those two met in my hospital room, they were 2 peas in a pod. Nobody can make Jesse laugh like Mason. Nobody can make Mason laugh like Jesse.
He loves his Momma like nobodies business. Shamelessly too. He wants me to bring him cupcakes for his birthday today. I’m like, “well, do they do that in middle school?” He’s said, “well, they better cause I want you to bring cupcakes for my birthday when I’m in highschool too. And college.” He is serious as a heart attack. Fine by me. I’m writing this from my phone in front of the bakery. There’s no doubt in my mind when I deliver today, he will hug me and give me a big ole’ smacking kiss in front of God and everybody in the 6th grade. Fine by me too.
He’s so rotten you can smell him coming. We like him like that. We’ve all done our part in spoiling him.
Each member of our family, (and yours) has a special place, like pieces of a puzzle. Enjoy who they are. Appreciate their quirkiness and individuality. In fact, celebrate it. One of a kind is hard to come by, y’all. That’s not something you run across every day. I’m sure blessed to have one that is all mine.
Happy Birthday to my Jesse Justice.
